Product description

The taro stem, also called bạc hà in Vietnamese, is a vegetable widely used in Southeast Asian cuisine. Its light, spongy texture easily absorbs broths and sauces, making it ideal for soups, stews and stir-fried dishes.

Use

It is particularly appreciated in Vietnamese sour soup. canh chua, with fish, tomato, pineapple and fresh herbs. It can also be cooked as a stir-fry with garlic, added to a broth or served as a side vegetable.

Preparation Tips

Rinse before use, then cook sufficiently before consumption. Add the pieces to a soup or stew so they soak up the broth, or brown them quickly with garlic and a light seasoning.
