The flesh of the soursop is edible and has both a sweet and tart taste. This makes it a fruit used in the food industry for making ice cream and juices. Its taste evokes for some that of Malabar chewing gum or Arlequin candy from Lutti, and in a more concrete way, an approach to lychee or mango with its flowery, delicate, fresh, exotic and persistent taste. Its stringy texture is reminiscent of rhubarb.
