Chive rice cake, or Bánh hẹ/韭菜粿, is an Asian specialty made from soft rice paste garnished with chives. Its tender and slightly elastic texture, combined with the fresh scent of chives, makes it a tasty and original bite.

Use

To be enjoyed as a starter, as a savory snack or in an assortment of steamed specialties. It can be served plain after steaming, or lightly pan-fried to obtain a golden and crispier surface.

Preparation Tips

Reheat with steam until the dough is very tender, or brown for a few minutes in a pan with a little oil. Serve hot with soy sauce, chili sauce or sweet and sour sauce.
